On Friday, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association won its case which challenged Ontario’s anti-carbon tax stickers.

When parents cannot agree on whether their child will attend school in-person or via remote learning, a court may decide for them.
Such was the case in a family law matter reported in Law Times on August 31, 2020, in which Justice Andrea Himel ordered the child to attend school after finding there was no “unacceptable risk” and after considering the home and work circumstances of both parents. » Read the rest

The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has filed a motion to address Ontario’s breach of legal obligation to keep prisoners with mental health disabilities out of segregation (link). The motion comes on the heels of Justice David Cole’s report (link) issued in April which concluded that Ontario has not provided adequate support to prisoners with mental health disabilities. » Read the rest
