The Waterloo School Board has announced it is beginning discussions with the Province on ways to support students with autism in the school setting. This move was sparked by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services’ announcement to cut the IBI (Intensive Behavioural Intervention) waitlists and remove children over the age of 5 whether they have received IBI or not.
The discussions suggest a step in the right direction but it will be interesting to see what changes, if any, result from it.
