The “Facing a Future with Assisted Suicide” webinar hosted by Citizens With Disabilities was a success! The panel was moderated by Dr. Eric Wasylenko, of the Health Quality Council of Alberta and the Dosseter Centre of Health Ethics, and bakerlaw’s David Baker participated on the “expert panel”. For more information about the webinar see our earlier post here (link to earlier post). The draft legislation discussed during the webinar, was shared with the provincial/territorial panel assigned to create appropriate legislation following the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling to legalize physician assisted dying. To see the email sent to the panel click here (link to email). To see a version of the powerpoint presentation presented during the webinar, click here (link to presentation).

David Baker will be presenting this powerpoint at the upcoming Health Law in Canada-Medical Aid in Dying Conference. David will be participating in a Critical Review and Presentation of Legislative Framework Options panel at 10:30 on October 27th.
